Early Season Shredding in Yad Moss… Dream On!

Tuesday, February 21st, 2012

Ski movies have a lot to answer for grrr!  I woke up this morning convinced that Carlisle skiers fantasies had come true!  Yad Moss, our premier ski resort, in the “High” Pennines, buried in 2 metres of powder!  Huge pillows of fluff piled up around the few sparse trees on the blasted moorland of the our northern hills.   I should have known better shouldn’t I?

I’d been gawping at ski flicks again.  In the quest for their annual extravaganza of ski porn, MSP and their competitors have shed loads of spare footage that they dribble out during the course of the season.  This little example was from a trip to Chatter Creek, in British Columbia. New guy Leo Ahrens, James Heim and Mark Abma were the lucky trio. They found a stack of quality skiing in a landscape buried in a couple of metres of the finest white fluff!  Something we don’t really see much of in our Gulf Stream warmed temperate hills.  During a nine-day blitz on the area, which Heim said was ‘the deepest trip of my life’  . All three skiers got their share of shredding in, not to be outdone by the resident lodge-dog who was quick to join in for some laps. Get a glimpse of the action right here in episode 1 of ‘MSP presents: CONTOUR MOMENTS’ and check back soon for more from MSP and Contour!  Contour are the main competitor to the Gopro range of cameras.  See go pro camera review here!

What you really want to see is the boys hacking through the powder!   Here it is!

I’ve got the sweats now … need some deep cold powder to cool off in.
